Quick guide

What the checker looks at

Government and job portals reject files for the same handful of reasons. The checker looks for all of them and shows only what matters for your document.

  1. Add the PDFThe document is read in your browser and isn't sent anywhere.
  2. Choose the portal's limitIf the portal shows a maximum size, choose it so you know exactly whether the file fits.
  3. Read the reportEach problem has a short explanation and, where relevant, the tool that fixes it.

Frequently asked questions

Answers before you start

Does the check guarantee the portal will accept the file?

No. Every portal has its own rules, some unwritten. The checker covers the most common causes: size, password, format and damaged files.

What does “font not embedded” mean?

The PDF relies on a font installed on your computer. On another device the text may appear in a different font or with missing characters. Save the document as a PDF again with fonts embedded.

Why does a digital signature matter?

If the document is digitally signed, any change (compressing, merging, rotating) invalidates the signature. Upload such a file exactly as you received it.

Is the document sent to a server?

No. The check runs in your browser.
