Frequently asked questions

Answers before you start

Why do redacted pages become images?

So the data is really removed. On those pages the text can no longer be selected; every other page stays exactly as it was.

Can I redact a photographed document?

Yes. Turn the photo into a PDF with Scan to PDF first, then redact it here.

Can I redact a digitally signed PDF?

Yes, but the digital signature is no longer valid after any change. Ask the recipient whether they accept a redacted copy.

Is the document sent to a server?

No. Everything happens in your browser.
