What Revenue myAccount accepts

According to Revenue's guide to uploading supporting documents (checked October 2026): each document can be up to 2 MB, you can upload up to 5 documents, one at a time, as PDF, JPEG, JPG, DOC, DOCX or PNG. Limits can change, so check what the upload screen shows.

Getting your documents under 2 MB

  • Scan receipts and letters in black and white or greyscale.
  • Combine several small receipts into one PDF with Merge PDF, then compress it here.
  • If you have more than 5 documents, group them by topic so they fit.

How to shrink a PDF without making it unreadable

Most large PDFs are large because of photos or scans. The tool shrinks the images and leaves the text and layout alone.

Answers before you start

Can I upload photos instead of PDFs?

JPEG and PNG are accepted too, but phone photos are often over 2 MB. A compressed PDF usually fits more easily.

Is my tax document uploaded to PDF Simplu?

No. The compression runs in your browser; only you upload the result to Revenue.
