Compress PDF · Under 500 KB

What you need to know

What fits under 500 KB

  • One or two scanned pages in black and white or greyscale.
  • PDFs created on a computer with only a few images.
  • A single ID or certificate copy.

What gets difficult

Several colour photos or long scans rarely fit in 500 KB without going blurry. Rescan in greyscale or upload only the pages that were asked for.

Frequently asked questions

Answers before you start

Why does the PDF sometimes barely shrink?

If it's mostly text, it's usually already small. File size comes mainly from photos and scans.

Can I take out just one page first?

Yes. Save only the page you need with Extract PDF pages and compress it afterwards.

How do I scan smaller in the first place?

Use the black and white filter in Scan to PDF. For text-only pages it gives the smallest files.
